THE WBIS EXCELLENCE AWARD

The Excellence Award is for pupils who wish to apply to Year 10 in Winchester British International School to study for the British school-leaving qualification IGCSE and A-Levels.

Based on the criteria below, applicants are eligible for either the:

♦FULL Excellence Award

OR

♦PARTIAL Excellence Award

The Award covers the following fees either FULLY or PARTIALLY:

  • Tuition fees
  • Materials / textbooks
  • Activities fees

The Award does NOT cover the following fees:

  • Examination Board registration fees
  • Uniform

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

🔴 Excellent mastery of written and spoken English as demonstrated by the applicant’s results on WBIS proficiency tests and oral interviews

🔴 Outgoing, determined, success-oriented pupils as evidenced by the applicant’s performance on the WBIS oral interview and on a written personal statement

🔴 Excellent presentation and communication skills as evidenced during oral interview

🔴 Excellent academic achievement in the last 3 years of education: Years 7, 8 & 9

IMPORTANT NOTE:

🔴 The Excellence Award is granted per academic year and is not automatically renewable for the following academic year

🔴 The Award is renewed pending the pupil’s achievement of “A*” in each of the IGCSE subjects / “A” in each of the AS-level subjects that the pupil is registered in

🔴 Excellent academic achievement and behaviour record in last 3 years of education as evidenced by the following documents:

  • Academic achievement reports for years 7 & 8
  • Mock exam results / teacher evaluations / any other record of current academic achievement for Year 9
  • Documentation of end of Year 9 academic results must be presented when they become available
  • Behaviour record from the school / schools attended in Years 7, 8 and 9 must be presented
